Craft Journeys

Travel through craft.

Individual and small-group travel, shaped by relationships, not checklists.

Discover

AOW Craft Journeys grow from the long relationships that shape all my work. They’re not sightseeing trips, but invitations to spend time with makers, families, farmers, cooks, and cultural stewards — and to know a place through stories made by hand.

  • Each bespoke journey is shaped around a specific craft tradition, artisan community, or food culture, with daily life and landscape woven naturally throughout.

    • Studio and workshop visits

    • Shared meals with artisans and local hosts

    • Markets, villages, and working landscapes

    • Time for conversation, sketching, writing, or wandering

  • Locally owned boutique hotels, guesthouses, or family-run stays chosen for comfort, character, and a strong sense of place.

  • Craft Journeys are usually to 1-6 people, allowing for ease, intimacy, and genuine exchange.

  • Trips are developed with artisans, guides, historians, and hosts I know and trust — people I return to.

  • Most trips run 2–7 days — enough time to settle in, with space to wander, rest, and reflect.

A different sort of journey.

  • Slow travel.

Instead of jumping around or checking boxes, we make space for time — in workshops, at shared tables, and in conversation — so you can understand not just how things are made, but why they matter.

  • Built on relationships.

This isn’t a packaged group tour or traditional travel planning. Each trip is shaped by long-standing relationships, kept intentionally small, and designed for depth rather than spectacle or volume.

  • Giving back.

Travel designed to support artisan livelihoods, foster genuine exchange, and contribute to local communities and cultural continuity. Feel good traveling — not because it’s indulgent, but because it’s thoughtful.

  • Finding connection.

AOW Craft Journeys tend to resonate with those drawn to craft, culture, and food; that prefer depth over accumulation; and who want travel to be thoughtful and respectful.
